Palav Kurma

Have this kurma with any spicy rice item, but best combination with palav rice. You can make it as hot as you like. Like pallav, the gravy is also less spicy.

Ingredients:

- 2 big potatoes
- 2 big onions
- 1 medium tomato
- 1tsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 green chilli(opt)
- 1 tbsp oil
- salt
- 1/4 tsp turmeric
- 1 tbsp curd
- pinch of sugar
- 3 tbsp roasted chana powder
- water

Procedure:

- boil the potatoes, peal them and cut into medium size pieces.
- beat the curd and mix roasted chana powder
- heat oil in a deep pan and saute finely chopped onions into golden brown colour.
- add ginger-garlic paste and fry till oil comes out
- add tomato pieces and saute till they turn soft.
- add potatoes, turmeric, salt, chilli and curd. Mix well and add water to the required consistency (appox. 2 1/2 cups).
- when oil is comming out add little bit red chilli powder as per your taste. turn off the flame.
- ready to serve.

Tips:

- if not having fresh curd, avoid it.
- you can substitute roasted chana dal powder with besan ( 1 tsp) but least preference.
